A Nigerian police officer has allegedly assaulted his colleague for refusing to date him.
The incident happened in Osun state, Nigeria, where one Olorunsogo Bamidele, a policewoman in the Osun command, reported that she was assaulted.
She accused Ajayi Matthew, the divisional crime officer of Ode Emu police division, of inflicting injuries on her because she rejected his love advances.
In a viral video on social media, Bamidele revealed that she was stripped naked and beaten by Matthew, who threatened to shoot her in the presence of her colleagues and some civilians.
Police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi told Punch that the IGP has ordered an investigation into the incident and that the force will wait for the report of the Osun police command before taking the necessary steps.
He said, “We will await the report of the investigation from the Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken. We, however, assure the general public that justice will be done on this case to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF.”

Ice Prince Arrested For Assaulting And Threatening Police Officer
Meanwhile, popular Nigerian hip-hop recording artiste, Ice Prince was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
This development was revealed in a tweet by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Benjamin Hundeyin.
Benjamin Hundeyin alleged that Ice Prince abducted, assaulted and threatened to throw an officer into the river after he was caught driving without license plates.
