Chelsea will welcome Manchester united for the first time in 2022 at Stamford bridge for their next premier league fixture. Thomas Tuchel men are already to the favourite to finish in the third position but they need to secure a win against a struggling Manchester united side in other to make sure that Tottenham and Arsenal cannot overtake them in the premier league table. The last time Thomas Tuchel faced one of the premier league top six sides, his team lost 4-2. However, he has never win Manchester united since he became Chelsea manager, which suggests why this will be a very difficult fixture.
Mason Mount, Timo Werner and Kepa Arrizabalaga are the three players he could include in his starting Xi to secure a win against the Manchester United. Mason has been doing well for the blues this season. He has the most goal contributions in his team this season. His performance in Chelsea’s last premier league game was commendable and Tuchel can’t think of any player to start rather than Mount. The England professional has improved a lot in his finishing skills which could make him very dangerous against Manchester United struggling defenders.
Edouard Mendy has conceded many goals in the past five games and it is time Thomas Tuchel considers starting Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of the Senegalese professional. Kepa has spent most of his season on bench and it will make sense for him to start in the goal post against the red devils. Moreover, He was very instrumental in Chelsea’s FIFA club world cup win earlier this year.
However, Timo Werner is currently in a better form than Romelu Lukaku who has been struggling to make impact in Chelsea’s recent games. Werner could pose a major threat for Manchester United defenders and tuchel should consider starting him ahead of Lukaku.
