Barcelona and Chelsea have an agreement in principle for the signing of Marcos Alonso, as he has one year on his current deal at Chelsea and has been replace in advance by Marc Cucurella from Brighton.
Alonso is set to sign a deal with Barcelona that could potentially run for three years as reported by Fabrizio Romano, and it could earn Chelsea as much as €10 million in sales.
Alonso is a skilled attacking fullback, who blossoms in advanced areas as a left back but lacks the defensive abilities to help his team prevent goals.
This deal would be optimal for Barcelona who are looking to recover the time they have lost chasing Real Madrid,
this season they are here to actively compete for the Spanish league title and the odds are currently in their favour.
It is sad that Azpicueleta signed a new deal with Chelsea, he would have made a big impact at Barcelona this season.
