Signing Brazilian forward Atony from Ajax has been one of Manchester United’s main targets since Erik ten Hag took over as manager.
The 22-year-old was approached by United several times to the Dutch club but they were not ready to let go of the player.
Ajax rejected the offer of 90 million the other day. The player had stayed away from the club’s training session and criticized them harshly.
The Brazilian player is confirmed to come to Manchester United. With the transfer window just days away, reports are emerging that Manchester United have landed their number one transfer target.
Jorhan Hamstellar, a prominent Dutch journalist, has released the news that Ajax is ready to sell Atony. He has written on Twitter that “Atony is gone” meaning
that the player has been decided to join Manchester United. United acquired the Brazilian for an amount not less than 100 million after the Dutch club rejected 90 million the previous day.
Atony, 22, has been with Ajax for the last two years. Last season he scored 12 goals and contributed 10 assists. Expect Atony to do wonders in United’s attack.
There is no doubt that Atony, who has good possession, speed and dribbling ability to deceive defenders, will strengthen Manchester United’s forward rate and give more confidence to the team.
In the last two seasons, Manchester United have performed well in the Champions League and the Dutch League under new coach Erik ten Hag. The Brazilian is United’s fifth signing of the season.
Manchester United are really close to signing Antony! Ajax finally accepted to negotiate on the fee and add-ons structure to reach €100m. Talks will continue later today. 🚨🔴 #MUFC
