The Aston Villa duo are good mates and they joined talkSPORT for a quick-fire Q and A style game ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenahm Hotspur this weekend. On the pitch, Villa have struggled for form in recent weeks having lost their last three games against West Ham, Arsenal and Wolves.
But this weekend provides a good opportunity for Steven Gerrard’s men to get back to winning ways in front of a sell-out Villa Park crowd. And the squad are in high spirits with Bodymoor Heath lively as ever.
McGinn and Cash both participated in a short game show on talkSPORT this week, and were asked about a range of topics, from fashion and music, to who their football heroes are. And Poland international Cash picked out a Chelsea legend as his selection.
Asked about his first hero, Cash said: “Frank Lampard it was. I used to love watching Frank Lampard,” before talkSPORT presenter Sam Ellard questioned, “not Stevie [Gerrard]?” Cash responded: “Nah obviously Stevie was unbelievable as well,” but McGinn interrupted, “you can’t call him that!”
“Gaffer sorry, sucked me in there,” Cash said. “Frank Lampard was my hero growing up to be honest.”
Both McGinn and Cash have settled well under new boss Gerrard, who is set to take charge of his 20th game as Villa head coach this weekend. Villa could move back into the top half with a positive result.
