FA CUP: 2 Reasons Why Chelsea Are Strong Favourites To Win The FA Cup On Saturday

On Saturday, Chelsea and Liverpool will lock horns at the Wembley stadium to decide who would be crowned Champions of the oldest competition in the world, the Emirates FA Cup.

For Chelsea, they will be hoping to end Liverpool’s hopes of a quadruple by beating the Reds to the Cup after losing the Carabao Cup final to them few weeks ago.

Why Chelsea Are Strong Favourites

The Blues’ record in this competition is quite impressive. On eight different occasions, they won the Cup. Making them the third most successful club in the competition’s history behind Arsenal and Manchester United.

To show how much Chelsea thrive in the FA Cup, they’ve made the final 4 times in the last 5 years but disappointingly won on one occasion only, in 2018.

For this final, they are favourites to win it because of two good reasons:

1. That Final Is Now The Most Important Match Of Their Season

No one would deny that Chelsea’s recent form has not been great. They’ve struggled to win games lately so many would think they don’t stand a chance against an in-form Liverpool.

But the mindset of the players in that final would be nothing like anything we’ve seen from them this season. For them, that match will be a do or die affair.

2. Liverpool Will Have Their Sights On The EPL & UCL

Unlike Chelsea, Liverpool still have a lot to play for this season. They are still in the race to win the English Premier League and are already in the final of the Champions League.

For them, that final is not the most important match of their season so they will not put everything into the game.

Also, the fact Chelsea have already lost the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool this season will give them extra motivation for the FA Cup final.
