The Imo state governor, Hope Uzodimma, gave bandits in the Imo forest 10 days to surrender their weapons and leave the forest on Sunday.
Uzodimma stated this after the church service at the Government House chapel in Owerri.
The governor stated that he has decided to rid the Imo forest of bandits and that all of the necessary equipment and personnel to carry out the operation have been acquired.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has “granted a 10-day window to bandits operating and hibernating in Imo State’s forests to leave immediately and surrender themselves and their arms to their traditional rulers for unconditional pardon or face bombardment.”
The Governor’s 10-day amnesty grace is effective immediately and will be met with severe consequences if the bandits do not take it seriously.
