According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, a tier-one source, Cristiano Ronaldo is refusing to give up on his desire to leave Manchester United this summer.
Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is holding meetings with Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid over a possible transfer for his client.
Romano adds that it’s not easy to convince them to sign the 37-year-old, especially after their club chiefs confirmed publicly they are not interested.
The Portuguese superstar has finally joined training after missing the full pre-season. He’s far from being match fit though, as confirmed by Erik ten Hag.
Meanwhile, United are in a precarious position as far as strikers are concerned. With Mason Greenwood suspended and Edinson Cavani no longer at the club, the Red Devils can only rely on Anthony Martial and Ronaldo.
And if Cristiano leaves too, the club must focus on signing a new striker before the August 31 deadline.
