Liverpool Begins Training Ahead Of Champions League Final, Completes First Session On Wednesday


Liverpool travels to Paris on Saturday night in search of a 7th Champions League glory, in a replay meeting of the 2018 showpiece.

The Reds trained on Wednesday afternoon in preparations for their 3rd Champions League title showpiece in five seasons at the AXA training centre.

Wednesday’s afternoon training session saw Fabinho and Joe Gomez participate alongside their teammates after injury.

The training session that lasted for over 50 minutes was under the watchful eyes of Jurgen Klopp and his backroom staff.

The session begins with Klopp giving out instructions to his boys. Klopp also gave a morale-boosting speech to his players to start the day business in a high spirit.

The session proceeded with a fitness workout that lasted for over 13 minutes.

Shortly after the fitness workout, the team was split into groups. Thereafter, the players engaged themselves in some tactical drills with shooting and passing exercises. While the other section saw the goalkeeper trainers drilling Alisson Becker with closed range shots.

The afternoon training session ended with a game on a small size pitch.

Mohamed Salah was full of energy throughout the session. Also full of energy are the injury returnees, Gomez and Fabinho.

Others present in the first training session include Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sadio Mane, and Divock Origi.

Thiago Alcantara missed out on Wednesday’s training session due to injury.

However, the midfielder is likely to train with the rest of the team on Thursday afternoon as he recovers from the injury that forced him at of Liverpool‘s encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers last Sunday.
