Liverpool football club register interest in signing a new striker for £68million next summer

Without much doubts, Liverpool football club will most definitely remain keen on improving their goalscoring options as they prepare for the forthcoming 2022/2023 football season.

Do remember that the Premier League giants enjoyed a very interesting just concluded 2021/2022 season as they ultimately finished in second position on the Premier League table.

Coupled with that, Liverpool football club also lifted both the English FA Cup and the Carabao Cup trophies under the management of Jurgen Klopp during the just concluded season.

And despite all that, Liverpool want to compete for more trophies next season and have been linked with a move for young Benfica centre-forward Darwin Nunez next summer.

The 22-year-old Uruguay International, who signed up for Benfica football club after departing Almeria in 2020 has proven to be a huge addition to the team.

The young striker was heavily involved for Benfica during the just concluded 2021/2022 season as he scored a total of 34 goals and provided four assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.

His impressive performances in front of goal is believed to have caught the attention of a number of clubs and according to reports from Daily Mail, Liverpool are also in the mix.

The reports further claimed that Liverpool football club have registered an interest in signing Darwin Nunez as they aim to fill the void left by the departing Divock Origi.

It is believed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to add more firepower to his attacking options next season and he has identified Darwin Nunez as a needed addition to his squad.

But with Darwin Nunez currently valued at £68million, it remains to be seen if Liverpool will be capable of paying up that transfer fee in order to secure his transfer from Benfica when the window opens.
