Liverpool Squad Depth: Klopp Is Building Towards A Team With 2 High Quality Players In Each Position

The 2022/23 season is fast approaching and the Meseryside reds will be looking forward to reclaim the Premier league title from Manchester city.

 

In the last three years, they are the only Premier league team who have give Manchester city the strongest competition in the Premier league.

 

However, they lost their first Pre-Season friendly game against Manchester United. They will be looking forward to winning their next game as the new season is fast approaching.

Liverpool current squad depth including their summer signings.

Goalkeepers:Adrian and Alisson Becker.

Defenders: Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip, Tsimikas and Robertson.

Midfielders: Naby Keita, Fabinho, Fabio Carvalho, Thiago Alacantra, Jordan Henderson and James Milner.

Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Elliott, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Roberto Firmino and Luiz Diaz.

Liverpool have already signed three players this summer. Jurgen Klopp is trying to build a team with two high quality players in each position.

In winter transfer window, he signed Luis Diaz from Porto and the forward is expected to share responsibility with Jota in the left wing.

 

The arrival of Fabio Carvalho will provide competition with Alacantra in the attacking midfield position. The youngster has a lot to offer to the Meseryside reds and his age makes him the future of the club.

However, in the 2021/22 season, Klopp used Sadio Mane frequently in the striking position. This is because Roberto Firmino’s declination in his performance.
However, since Mane have left the club, The new arrival Darwin Nunez is expected to share the striking role with Firmino in the 2022/23 season. Liverpool currently have two high quality players in each Position, except for the right-back position.
The Meseryside reds might try to sign a top right-back in other to further their ambition next season. Liverpool are among the teams that have spent the most money on transfer this summer and could still add one or two signings before the transfer windows closes.
