Liverpool star sets a new record for country in their 3-1 AFCON 2023 qualifiers victory

Sadio Mane was fantastic yesterday for the Teranga Lions of Senegal in their first game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin at the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade.

Sadio Mane who is currently a target for the German Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich this summer was able to be at the peak with mind-blowing performance thereby having a good day at office.

The 30 years old forward enigma who had an incredible season with Liverpool under the tutelage of German tactician, Jurgen Klopp was able to maintain the tempo as he recorded a hat-trick in the three goals to one scoreline at full time.

Sadio Mane in the first half put the host ahead with a double lead after netting his opener via penalty to make it one nil before completing his double going into the half time break.

He was however able to complete his hat-trick in the second half after putting the ball away from the spot to make it three goals to nil after which the visitor got a consolation in the late minute to the end of the game courtesy of a goal from Junior Olaitan, as it ended three goals to one at full time.

Sadio Mane with his hat-trick of the night has now taken his goal tally for country to 32, which means he has now scored more goals for Senegal than any other player in the nation’s history.

The last AFCON Player of the Tournament has now became the all-time leading top goalscorer in Senegal Men’s history, as he will then be hoping to keep his incredible run of form in the front of goals going for his team in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the qualifying series.
