Mo Salah breaks silence on Liverpool future with contract talks at a standstill

Mo Salah’s contract doesn’t expire until 2023, but given the world-class talent he is, the Egyptian wants an extension from Liverpool this summer. After all, Salah is arguably their most important player and one of the most clinical strikers in Europe.

While talks are still at a standstill between the two sides, the Liverpool talisman confirmed that he will be staying at Anfield despite the rumors of a possible move to Real Madrid.

However, Salah and his agent aren’t pleased by any means with Liverpool’s current offer:

There is obviously a lot of time for Liverpool to put an improved deal on the table. But, it is slightly concerning that both Salah and Sadio Mane are out of contract in 2023, with the latter potentially on his way out this summer.

Salah is coming off a tremendous campaign for the Merseysiders, leading the Premier League with an impressive 23 goals and 13 assists. He’s also netted another eight times in the Champions League and will undoubtedly be a key factor in the final on Saturday against Real Madrid in Paris.

Liverpool’s frontline is one of the best in the world right now, with Diogo Jota and new boy Luis Diaz really coming into their own. But, Salah is the focal point of it all and boss Jurgen Klopp absolutely loves him. That said, the Reds better give Mo Salah what he fully deserves if they want him to keep wearing the shirt for years to come.
