The Red contingent of Merseyside will continue their preparation for the 2022/23 campaign with a friendly contest against German heavyweight RB Leipzig on Thursday evening at the Red Bull Arena.
Having had an impressive campaign last season, Christopher Nkunku was linked to several clubs in Europe before deciding to commit his future to the Die Roten Bullen.
The appointment of Domenico Tedesco has so far been the right decision. He won the DFB-Pokal with the Red Bull Arena’s Faithful last season and the Bundesliga powerhouse already have reasons to rejoice ahead of the new campaign.
In contrast, the Reds bounce back from their 4-1 defeat against Man United in style, as they cruised past Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace 2-0.
Jordan Henderson opened the scoring for the Reds before Mohamed Salah put the game beyond reach in the second half.
Jurgen Klopp will bid to pick up his second pre-season victory on Thursday when his boys take on the German side RB Leipzig.
Kick Off Time
The match is scheduled to kick off by 6:15 pm on Thursday, and will mark the first meeting between these two sides this term.
Domenico Tedesco will not have a well-stocked squad for Thursday’s contest, with Josko Gvardiol, Yussuf Poulsen, and Ademola Lookman still on their comeback trail from injury.
However, Domenico will start his best side as he hopes to be more fruitful in the new campaign.
As for Jurgen Klopp, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are unlikely to be available for Thursday’s contest due to injury.
Adrian could be given the nod to start in the post again, with a back-line of Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Mohamed Salah could be back in the starting lineup on Thursday, while Darwin Nunez will bid to score his first goal in the Reds shirt if given a chance to play.
