Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been told to make a move to try and sign Ngolo Kante in the summer transfer window
Kante is one of the best holding midfielders in the game and a player that everyone at the club can rely on – especially in those big games when the back-line needs to be protected more
He has been a revelation since his £5.6m move to Leicester City in 2015, with the former Caen star helping the Foxes secure a remarkable Premier League title and winning another at Stamford Bridge
The 31-year-old has also won the Champions League, Europa League, Club World Cup, Super Cup and FA Cup during his six-year spell at Chelsea. He was also a key member of the France squad that lifted the World Cup in 2018.
But he is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and there has been some rumours in the media that PSG will be ready to swoop in and offer him a move back to his homeland, a place that he has a desire to play again in the future
However, amid all the speculation – Liverpool boss Klopp has been encouraged to make a move and bring the Frenchman to Anfield – Ferdinand said when speaking on Liverpool’s needs: “That’s where they need a Kante.
“A fit Kante and he’s given the license to get on and jump out of a defensive block, he’s the one player who could cause them problems.”
Our View…
Look, there will probably be some big players arriving in the summer as the new owners will want to put their stamp on the squad, but they need to make sure that they do not lose Kante
There is no player that can do what he does in that Chelsea side, and losing him, would be a massive loss to the squad – but we could see him in that Liverpool shirt
He would be a brilliant addition to that Reds squad – if they decided to make a move.
