Brazilian winger Antony Dos Santos has been heavily linked to a move away from Ajax with Manchester United the team that has shown more interest in signing him.
The Dutch tactician Erik ten Hag is eager to work with the winger again as they both did in his time at Ajax but the Red Devils are yet to meet up with the asking price placed on the player.
According to fresh reports coming from Daily Mail, it is claimed that United’s failure to close the deal as soon as possible could give Liverpool who is reportedly showing an interest in the Brazilian International, a chance to hijack the move.
The reports add that the Reds have already held talks with the Dutch champions and the player’s agent, over a possible acceptance of a fee below the £69 million asking price.
The report also has it that Liverpool could reach an agreement on a deal worth £59 million with the Dutch side.
Antony played 33 matches in all competitions for Ajax last season scoring 12 goals and assisting 4 times in the process.
