With his deal at Liverpool expiring at the end of the campaign, Guinea international was left out of the squad for the 2-1 defeat to Man United.

The German boss spoke after the match, simply saying “he fell”. Injury or not, the Reds do need another midfielder. Now, Liverpool are said to be considering a late move for Argentina international.

Paredes is somewhat of a fringe footballer at Ligue 1 giants, behind the likes of Verratti and new signing Vitinha in the pecking order.

Leandro has a deal until 2024. The Parisians have played four matches this campaign so far. While the 28-year-old midfielder has featured in all four, all of his games have come from the bench.

Clearly, the Argentine midfielder needs to leave the Parisians.

The report claims that the Reds have ‘indicated their interest’ in the South American midfielder.

However, they are not alone in pursuit of the Argentine, with Juventus making an offer. It would see Juventus raid the Parisians a second time, after Di Maria.

Whatever the situation regarding Naby Keita, the Reds need a midfielder like Leandro. Injured or fit.

They need more depth in the middle of the park, finally replacing Wijnaldum who of course, moved to PSG last summer with the Argentine.

Leandro Paredes is the kind of footballer that can play in Fabinho’s holding role.
