Kevin Campbell has claimed Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco would be a “brilliant” capture for Man United this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker, who previously worked for La Liga TV, said signing the 28-year-old would be “sensible business.”
Man United manager Erik ten Hag wants to bolster his attack before the window closes.
The Belgium international is seen as an alternative to PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.
Carrasco has two years remaining on his contract in the Spanish capital.
When asked by Football Insider if Carrasco would be a welcome addition at Old Trafford for £25million, Campbell said: “That is cheap money.
“That is very cheap money because Carrasco is a brilliant player.
“I thought United looked excellent the other night, especially going forward. Erik ten Hag selected a side with great running power. Liverpool played into their hands which ain’t like Liverpool.
“If you bring a Carrasco in for £25million, that would be sensible business.
“I watched him for a couple of seasons when I was working on La Liga and he was very good. He is very dangerous. He is a goal threat.”
Carrasco has made 221 appearances for Atletico Madrid.
He has contributed 37 goals and 39 assists in those outings.
