The club from Old Trafford has been after Antony all during the summer in an attempt to recruit him, but so far their efforts have not been fruitful in that regard.
It has been stated that they have chosen to enhance their offer in the hopes of persuading Ajax to enter into a deal. This comes after their initial approach of €80 million was turned down.
There are indications that Manchester United are getting ready to make a new offer that will be worth a total of €100 million.
According to the source, the Red Devils are prepared to offer Ajax an initial fee of €80 million for Antony, with an additional €20 million in add-on bonuses to be included in the deal.
It is generally agreed upon that Ajax has a possibility of agreeing to this offer, as the club might find it difficult to refuse such a massive proposal for a player whom they acquired in 2020 for an initial fee of €16 million.
The right flank is often where Antony operates, and Jadon Sancho has started both of Manchester United’s opening two league matches on that side of the field.
Marcus Rashford has started on the left wing for both of Manchester United’s Premier League games so far in the 2022-23 season, but he could lose his starting spot if Antony is acquired.
According to a report from De Telegraaf, the Amsterdam club is reportedly interested in recruiting Chelsea’s former Ajax star Hakim Ziyech on an initial loan agreement with the intention of signing him on a permanent move in 2023 if Antony goes. Ziyech formerly played for Ajax.
In addition to that, it has been stated that Justin Kluivert, another former Ajax star, is also on the radar of the Eredivisie club in the event that Antony leaves this summer.
Kluivert is currently employed by Roma, but it has been rumoured that Premier League club Fulham are getting closer to reaching an agreement to sign him.
