Chelsea and Liverpool will be battling each other in the final of the English FA Cup on Saturday evening. This is the second time that the two teams are meeting at the final this season. Their first meeting was in the Carabao Cup’s final, where Liverpool won after Kepa Arizabalaga lost his penalty.
This time around, I believe it is going to more difficult for the two teams as they will be playing to protect their fans’ interest. Chelsea are hoping to have a revenge on Liverpool, but the truth is, Liverpool still has upper hand on Chelsea if you take a look at the team’s squad according to department.
Let us take a look at the reasons why Liverpool may beat Chelsea in the final once again.
1. Chelsea’s team is not in form presently: Chelsea’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League has affected their performance in general. They have lost to Arsenal, drew with Manchester United and lost to Everton since then. I don’t think they can do much against Liverpool in the FA Cup’s final.
2. Chelsea will be playing under pressure, especially as they lost in the Carabao Cup’s final to the same Liverpool. Because they will be playing under pressure, they will certainly lack organization. Even the defenders will go all out to score, this will give Liverpool the chance to score a couple of goals.
3. Judging by the team’s quality, Liverpool has a more quality team than Chelsea. Some persons may argue this, but for me, it’s beyond argument. When you take a look at Liverpool’s defense, the presence of Virgil Van Dijk has given Liverpool’s defense the upper hands over Chelsea’s defense. Talking about the attacking department, the trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Diaz cannot be matched by Chelsea’s attackers. I believe Liverpool is still in a better position to carry the cup one more time.
