Bayern ready to walk away from Mane deal

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has hinted that the club will not be held to ransom over a deal to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool.

“Of course we can’t rely on one option to strengthen our attack,” Salihamidzic said other options to Mane. “We must have several options.”

He added: “Generally speaking, we’re trying to strengthen our team. We’re working on several options in attack. The transfer market is not easy, it always depends on the financial possibilities of the club. I don’t want to talk about players of other clubs.

Fowler delivers Nunez transfer verdict

Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler has suggested that his former club were uneasy about United joining the race to sign Darwin Nunez this summer.

Nunez, 22, is edging closer and closer to an £85m switch to Anfield after scoring 34 goals in 41 games for Benfica last season.

Tottenham are set to step up their interest in Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence, reports the Telegraph.

Manchester United are confident of landing deals to sign both Frenkie de Jong and Antony this summer, report talkSPORT.

The radio station claims that Erik ten Hag is set to wrap up deals for both of his former players to make Barcelona midfielder De Jong and Ajax forward Antony his first signing as Old Trafford boss.

Ten Hag has been persuading both players of the merits of joining United and the club have let Barca know of their intentions of signing De Jong this summer, with the Catalan giants open to cashing-in due to their financial situation.

Harry Maguire is set for showdown talks with Erik ten Hag over the Manchester United captaincy, according to reports.

Maguire’s role as United’s captain has been called into question following a torrid season at Old Trafford, with recent reports suggesting David de Gea could be the new favourite to take the armband.

 

The Daily Star though report the defender is determined to hang onto the captaincy, and will discuss the role with Ten Hag when he returns to pre-season training.
