Jamie Carragher has claimed on Sky Sports that Roberto Firmino will depart from Liverpool at the end of the current campaign.
The ex-Liverpool forward believes that it is “pretty obvious” that Brazil international star, Firmino will not be given a new contract.
The £180,000-a-week star is out of deal at Anfield next summer.
Carragher made the comments about Brazilian forward in the build-up to the Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Carragher said about Firmino: “I think with Roberto Firmino, it’s pretty obvious. He’s going to see out this year and probably move for free.”
The Brazilian is 30 now and is out of deal at the former Premie League and UEFA Champions League holders next summer.
Firmino had injury issues last term, and the Merseyside Reds have signed Darwin Nunez to play as the number nine.
We do not see the Reds paying over the odds in salary to Firmino to keep him at the club beyond the end of his current deal.
The Brazilian has been superb for the Reds over the years, however, his time at Anfield is coming to an end.
