Former Premier League striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Chelsea striker could leave Stamford Bridge this summer for as little as £40 million.
Chelsea made the big decision last summer window to bring back Lukaku to the club in a deal worth £98 million as Thomas Tuchel wanted to sign a proven top-class forward
Lukaku become the most deadly striker in Italian football and many fans were hoping that his arrival would bring goals, and along with that, more trophies to add to the cabinet.
However, that has not been the case and Lukaku has looked nothing like the man that dominated Serie A last season, and has even admitted that he simply cannot adapt to the style of play of Tuchel
And of course that has led to all sorts of speculation in the media that Chelsea would be very open to letting him leave the club and use the funds to sign Erling Haaland or Robert Lewandowski.
Now, amid all the speculation that he could be departing the club in the transfer window, fans have been told that the powerhouse could be leaving the club for as little as £40 million.
“It’s like buying a Bugatti but you have to give it back and only get half the price,” he said on talkSPORT.
“The £91m they paid for him, I don’t think they’ll get £50m for Lukaku! I think someone could come in for £40m. Chelsea are in a position where he doesn’t suit the way they play anymore. ”

There has been far too many rumours in the media suggesting that Lukaku wants to leave the club to believe that he doesnt want to depart
So if the reports are true and he is pushing for a move back to Italian football – can we really see him taking a massive pay-cut at this stage of his career to head back to Inter? No we cannot
He is not getting any younger and he knows that he is still one of the best strikers in the game, so may actually make a move elsewhere
But we cant see Chelsea letting him go for just £40 million
