Each time Liverpool drop points, it doesn’t take long until the summer exit of Sadio Mane is brought up.

People can talk about Mane going all they like but you’ve got to move forward – things have changed and we’re evolving. It’s not a great start to the season by any means because of the standards we’ve set but City have drawn two games already too. We’ve just got to keep going and things may start to happen.

In an ideal world, Jurgen would have wanted Sadio to stay and we would have kept him and still got Darwin Nunez. That hasn’t happened and we can’t change that now.

We have lost many good players in the past, and they’re not often easy to replace, but we will find a way to adapt our style of play to accommodate for our new-look attack.

Nunez will start scoring, I’m pretty sure of that. He has made things difficult for himself by getting sent off but he is showing signs he will fit in.

First look at Arthur could be on the horizon

With the transfer window now closed, we can only work with the players in the group to the best of our ability. For Liverpool, it’s about who is the right fit for the club and what we have available to spend when doing deals.

Of course fans want more players because they see what Man United are doing – the Glazers’ signings have been made to appease the fans.

I’ve not seen too much of Arthur but I expect he may get his debut at Napoli, given he knows about facing Italian opponents. Hopefully Thiago is back and we’ve got Harvey Elliott who has come to the fore.

Napoli are top of the league in Serie A and are playing well, but we’ve got to go there and get something from the game on Wednesday.

Liverpool have been to three Champions League finals in quick succession, we’ve won it six times it’s very close to our hearts because of the number of cups we have won. We have to maintain our tradition with this special competition.
