Why Chelsea Will Still Qualify For The UCL This Season Despite Their Poor Run Of Form.

 

 

Chelsea are sitting on the 3rd position in the Premier League table, they have played 34 Premier League matches winning 19, drawing 9 and lost 6 with 66 points, as they contend to finish in the Champions League spot this season.

The Blues form of recent is really frustrating, as they have lost 4 games and winning 4 in the Premier League this term.

In the beginning of the 2021/22 season, Chelsea were contending for the Premier League title, UEFA Champions League title, UEFA Super Cup, Carabao Cup, the FA Cup title and the FIFA Club World Cup title.

They have only won 2 trophies this season, the UEFA Super Cup title and FIFA Club World Cup title, they have miss out of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and lost the Carabao Cup to Liverpool this campaign.

They will face Liverpool this month in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, and this could trouble Thomas Tuchel’s side due to their poor run of form in recent games.

The Blues have lost to West Ham Brentford, Arsenal, Everton in recent games, and these has given an open opportunity for Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United to challenge for the top four position this campaign.

Manchester City and Liverpool have already qualified for next season Champions League, the remaining teams contending to finish in Champions League place this season are the big four teams.

Taking a critical look on the big four teams contending to join City and Liverpool in next season Champions League, Manchester United might finish on Champions League spot if only Arsenal and Spurs lost their remaining 4 games, and United have to win their two remaining games.

Looking at the current situation United might miss out the top four this season. Chelsea will still qualify for the Champions League this season, because they can’t afford to lost the remaining four games.

The Blues are still on 66 points, Arsenal 63 points and Spurs 61 points, the Blues need to win two games and draw 1, as their superior goal difference could help them finish on Champions League spot this season, even if Arsenal and Spurs win their remaining four games this season.
